The University of Birmingham equipment relocation
BCL were contacted by the University of Birmingham to move an expensive piece of Laboratory equipment. The equipment was located above first floor and was shared by several laboratories of which one of the laboratories was about a 300 meter walk.
On first impressions the piece of equipment seemed nothing more than a very large microwave but after careful inspection and a thorough survey of which required a full Health and Safety assessment the piece of equipment not only turned out to be very expensive but also very heavy.
The equipment was located about 5 feet off the ground and weighed over 300kg of which would prove to be a challenging move within a small store room.
With the technical knowledge and skill of the BCL staff the equipment was successfully raised, lowered and transported to its new location in the laboratory using a specialist piece of equipment.
The laboratory staff really appreciated the assistance of BCL as they no longer needed to walk the 300 meters from one laboratory to another to complete their work.

The lads were excellent and just stuck at it

It has been an interesting nine days! so much to sort out and Monday 2nd I think we all wanted to run as it seemed a daunting task!!
But the lads were excellent and just stuck at it with their usual good humour despite the horrible weather and torrential rain this week. So special thanks to Simon, Pete, Richard and the three lads.
Many thanks

I just wanted to say a big thank you to Piers, Greg and the other staff who made the whole moving process a breeze. The staff moving the furniture were fabulous and really professional.

The collection has been collected and I probably won’t speak to you again, but I want to say ‘Thank you’ for all of your help over the last 7 months. It has made my life so much easier, I think this is the 4th move I have done for Gateway, hopefully this is the last one for some time. The crew of movers we linked with are also brilliant and really good fun to be around. So, thanks again and best wishes for the future.
Regards Maxine
Maxine, GatewayNothing was ever too much of an ask for them

Hi, Piers
Just wanted to let you and the bosses at BCL know that George, Dave, Mike and the boys were absolutely top class this week.
They put in a proper shift for us. Nothing was ever too much of an ask for them. They sorted loads of little jobs out in-between all the massive ones. They were great with the staff too.
This was a potentially awkward move with it being to and from live sites, with another company doing the desks but they really smashed it and made the move go very smoothly.
Honestly couldn't have gone better.
Thanks, everyone.
