6 iPhone Apps for Work on the Go
Monday 28 January 2013
Smart phones have quickly become indispensable in many businesses, including BCL Office Moving. Our people are constantly on the road or at client sites, which can make recordkeeping and time management a challenge. We've taken a peek at our people's iPhones to see what apps they're using to make working on the go easier.
MileLog - 69p
With MileLog, our guys on the road can easily keep track of their miles travelled, distances between points, etc. quickly and easily. They find it is much easier, and quicker, than keeping a log on paper - not to mention more accurate.
Google Maps - Free
Our team considers this their most indispensable tool when visiting clients in London. We're able to see exactly where we are on the map at the touch of a button, find the nearest tube station to where we're going, and avoid getting lost if we're in an unfamiliar neighbourhood.
National Rail Enquiries - Free
Need to know when the next train to Manchester is? Is your train delayed? This app makes it easy to plan your travel by train in the UK and let you get to those important meetings (or get home!) as efficiently as possible.
XE Currency - Free
Sometimes you need to know how much something will cost in Euros, dollars, Swiss Francs, etc. This simple app works just like the website - only easier.
Evernote - Free
Make notes, record messages, and get yourself organised across all of your devices. They do offer a subscription service, but it isn't necessary to take advantage of this app and use it with your computers and smartphones.
Cardmunch Business Card Reader by LinkedIn - Free
When you're collecting a lot of business cards, it is tedious to then enter all of the contact information into your computer or smartphone so you can connect with someone on LinkedIn. This app lets you take a photo of a business card, and let LinkedIn do all the work to transcribe it and help you connect with the person on the card.
